Sometime in April we laid a 2" pink insulation foundation and Irene began preparing sections of town. The idea is to be fairly modular - for the next (ugh) move, whenever that is. One of the removable sections, which will go adjacent to the lake on the right is show below during construction. Irene is using 1" pink insulation as a base. Gray latex paint will serve as the roadway. The town will be named "Tuffy Town" in honor of our new kitty.
When the surface of the foam is scratched, Irene fills it in with spackle. When it's sanded and painted, no one is the wiser.
In the far right are condos on a hill. We're waiting for two more. They are N scale for perspective. Then the 99 cent "mansion" from a garage sale, which is just about N scale. In front of the condos is the Trubble Jelly Bean Factory, scratch built by John. It's constructed to be 15% smaller than HO. The town section in the center will be all HO scale.
