Copyright ©2004-2005 John and Irene Russo. | February, 2004. Starting the Trains... Again. We began our
first train layout over four years ago. Then Mommy and Daddy decided the house was too
big for us, so we moved. Here we go - again - starting over in a
brand-new town home. It took about 2 months to rip apart our old train set
(http://medcomres.com/OurHOTrains/).
Sigh... The good news is our new train room is bigger and better! We retrieved chunks of scenery we're going to reconstruct and reconnect, but most important, we have lots and lots of trains - and - all the invaluable knowledge associated with messing up the first time. Mommy's resolutions: Be neater. She's very artistic, but can be sloppy and her work does not look great on close-ups. She vows that will change. She also vows to simplify and label her electrical work. When something blew, nobody had a clue where to look. Daddy's resolutions: :It's all about the track." Daddy undertook a massive and difficult starter lay out. It taught him to make the elevations more gradual this time around, and make the turnouts level. He also learned that the controls need to be simplified. Maybe make the controls manual rather than the sophisticated Acme switches he had before. My resolutions: Be sneakier about chewing on the scenery. I hate that pepper spray they eventually put all over the place! Yuk! (Aren't I handsome, on the chair below?)
